Mercedes Henderson

Mercedes (Ingram) Henderson re-joined the Department of Athletics & Recreation at the University of Rochester as an athletic trainer in the summer of 2021.

She returns to Rochester, where she previously has worked for two years from 2017-19, after a two-year stint with Binghamton University from 2019 through the spring of 2021.
 
Prior to her first appointment at Rochester, Henderson worked at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees at West Chester. She was a supervisor in the general athletic training room and worked with every one of the institution’s varsity sports.
 
West Chester is a member of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and currently sponsors a 23-sport athletic program (nine for men, 14 for women).
 
In her final semester at West Chester, Henderson served as the head athletic trainer for the women’s lacrosse team. She completed her Masters research on cadaveric dissection of pathological versus non-pathological human hearts.
 
She was awarded her Masters in Exercise Physiology with a Concentration in Athletic Training in May, 2017. Her baccalaureate degree in athletic training was conferred in May, 2015.
 
Henderson is a native of Alburtis, Pennsylvania, located near Allentown, Pennsylvania.
