    Volunteer Cross Country/Track & Field Assistant Coach
Former Yellowjacket student-athlete Jeremy Hassett joined the Rochester staff as a Volunteer Assistant Coach in 2016-17. One of the top middle distance runners in school history, Hassett earned a Bachelor’s degree in Audio & Music Engineering in May 2016, and will continue to work with the track & field and cross country programs in this new capacity while studying toward a doctoral degree in the University’s world-renowned Institute of Optics.

Hassett won seven New York State championships over a four-year career with the Yellowjackets, including titles in the 800 meters, 1,000 meters, 1,500 meters, 4x800 relay, and Distance Medley relay.  He was also a seven-time medalist at the ECAC Championships and led the Yellowjackets to an ECAC title in the 4x800 relay at the 2016 ECAC Outdoor Championships.  He anchored the school record-setting Distance Medley relay in 2015 (10:03.85) and was also a top runner and four-year letterman for the Rochester cross country program from 2012-2015.

The Newark, NY native also compiled an incredible list of academic achievements during his undergraduate career.  He was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America team in 2016, was elected Phi Beta Kappa, and earned the Peter DiPasquale Award as Rochester’s Top Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2016 after graduating with a 3.98 cumulative GPA.
