Chris Lee and Greg Colavecchia scored two goals in an eight minute span as the Yellowjackets came from behind to defeat Clarkson 2-1 here in Fauver Stadium this afternoon.
With the win, Rochester improves to 5-2-0. Clarkson is 1-4-2.
After a scoreless first half, Clarkson struck first early in the second stanza. Forward Ismael Mohammad blasted it past of goalkeeper Brian Minehan after a breakaway to make it 1-0 Clarkson in the 46th minute.
The Yellowjackets would rally. Following a Clarkson foul, defender Brandon Laws blasted the free kick from left wing near the right goal post, where Lee booted it into the open net at 60:00 to tie the score at 1.
Eight minutes later, Colavecchia took a pass from midfielder Damien Hallatt, headed it over a Clarkson defender and to himself, and then kicked it over goalkeeper Seth Kallas for the go-ahead-goal at 68:05.
Despite missing 4 starters because of injury, Rochester held a 23-4 advantage in shots. Clarkson goalkeepers David Hennessey and Kallas combined for 9 saves.
The Yellowjackets will host Ithaca College, fresh off an upset of second-ranked St. Lawrence, in Fauver Stadium Tuesday night, September 23rd. Game time is 7 p.m.
