Rensselaer scored four goals in a nine-minute span late in the match to defeat the Yellowjackets, 4-2, in field hockey on Friday afternoon.
The Yellowjackets led, 1-0, at 6:05 on a goal by Erin Charnow. It was her fifth goal of the season. Rochester fended off the Red Hawks until Sarah Salinger tied the game off a pass from Elisa Prange with 12:42 left on the clock.
Prange broke the tie two minutes later (with 10:13 left) and Sondra Sherman scored twice in less than a minute (4:21 left, 3:31 left – the second on a penalty stroke), to nail it down.
Krista Butler answered immediately for Rochester (3:48 left) to complete the scoring. It was Butler's 10th goal of the season, a team-high.
Rachel Cahan made four saves in goal for the Yellowjackets. Amanda Lund had two saves for RPI.
The Yellowjackets are 9-7 overall, 2-4 in the Liberty League. RPI is 8-6 overall, 5-1 in the league.
