Chicago scored midway through the second overtime to end a scoreless deadlock and defeat the Yellowjackets 1-0 here in Fauver Stadium this afternoon.
Randi Leppla headed in a pass from Jacqui DeLeon to score the golden goal for the Maroons, ranked 11th in the most recent NSCAA/adidias Top 25 Poll. With the win, Chicago improves to 13-1-2 overall, 5-0-1 in University Athletic Association play. Rochester is now 9-5-3 overall, 2-4-0 in the UAA.
Rochester outshot Chicago 10-5. Chicago goalkeeper Andrea Przybysz made 5 saves in net. Adrianne Hulchanski started the game in net for the 'Jackets, making one save. Molly Leitch replaced her at halftime and played the remainder of regulation and overtime. She also made one save.
Rochester finishes the regular season this Saturday when they host Case Western in Fauver Stadium. Kickoff is at 4:30 p.m.
