Record-Breaking Day for Molisani in Loss

Junior quarterback Aaron Molisani broke a single-season record and tied another but the Yellowjackets lost, 41-20, to Hobart College in the season finale.

Molisani finished the season with 172 completions in 327 attempts for 1,814 yards and 16 TDs. He was intercepted eight times. He already had the completions record. By completing 21 of 47 passes for 200 yards vs. Hobart, he broke the mark for attempts in a season. It was 288 by Pat Manuel in 2002.

Three of his throws went for touchdowns. He found Kevin Toolan for a nine-yard score in the first quarter, Nate Gibbons for a six-yard strike in the fourth, and Toolan again - this time for 17 yards - in the fourth.

The total of 16 TD passes equals a 37-year-old school record set originally by Bob Young in 1967. Dave Boyce threw 15 TDs in 1988 and Manuel matched that in 2002.

Toolan caught six balls for 78 yards and two scores. David Ferris had six catches for 42 yards. Gibbons hauled in five passes for 44 yards.

Defensively, Matt Simon had a game-high 16 tackles (10 primary). Jim Milks had 10 stops. Michael Dermody had eight tackles, one fumble recovery, one interceptions, and one pass breakup. Nick Grow had Rochester's solo sack.

Hobart, which had clinched the Liberty League title with a victory last week over Union in OT, finished the regular season at 8-1 overall, 7-0 in the Liberty League. Rochester ended 4-6 overall, 3-4 in the Liberty League.
