The men's soccer team improved to 9-0 this season with a 2-0 victory over RIT at Fauver Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Nate Micklos scored one goal and set up another for the Yellowjackets. Rochester held a 16-3 advantage in shots and a 9-2 edge on corner kicks. Stephen Maltzman scored the second goal. Gary Stom and Matt Sulkin had the assists.
Paco Corbalan played the first 75:48 in goal. He made one save. Greg Chaffin finished up, playing the final 14:12 without having to make a save.
Micklos opened the scoring at 4:22 with his 10th goal of the season. Sulkin's pass released Stom and he curled the ball over from the right side. Micklos was able to put it into the open side of the net.
At 28:15, Micklos pushed the ball out for Maltzman overlapping from defense. Maltzman sent a long ball into the box that RIT goalkeeper Dan Slocum got a hand on, but had it deflect into the net for a 2-0 edge.
