Women Fall to Union in ECAC Semis

The women's basketball team lost to Union College, 64-57, in the semifinals of the ECAC Upstate New York Championship at St. John Fisher College on Saturday afternoon.

Rochester was done in by a cold second half shooting spell when the Yellowjackets sank only two of their first 16 shots after intermission.

Union built a seven point lead, 41-34, before Rochester charged. Megan Fish snak a layup, then Jessie Graham and Emily Bango hit two free throws apiece, pulling the Yellowjackets within 41-40, with 8:55 left.

Danielle Muller's runner in the lane kept it at one before the Dutchwomen got a bucket from Katlyin Cunningham and a three-pointer from Sarah Krammen for a 48-42 lead with 5:54 to play. Two more Muller free throws got it down to four, 48-44, but the Yellowjackets couldn't cut it closer than that.

Muller posted her third double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Megan Krebbeks added 10 points in 21 minutes off the bench. Graham had seven while Emily Bango and Ashley Latimer scored six apiece.

Bango had two steals in the first half. It boosted her total to 91 and broke Kristan Radak's record of 90 set in 1984-85.

Rochester was playing in its fifth consecutive post-season tournament. The Yellowjackets finished the season at 16-11.
