MONTCLAIR, N.J. - Sophomore forward Jennifer Tanis scored off her own rebound five minutes into the second half as Montclair State stayed unbeaten, improving to 4-0 with a 1-0 victory over University of Rochester in field hockey action on Sunday afternoon at Sprague Field.

Senior goalkeeper Robyn Apicelli made a pair of saves in recording her third straight shutout (ninth career) as MSU begins a season at 4-0 for the third consecutive campaign. Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Cahan made 13 saves for the Yellowjackets (2-2).

Montclair State dominated in the shot category, 23-8, but couldn't find a way past Cahan, who made 22 saves in the two games this weekend.

Kristen Swartz moved the ball from midfield and slid a pass to Tanis from just outside the 10 yard line. Tanis fired a shot that Cahan made a sprawling save on, but the rebound came back out to Tanis, who then flipped the second shot inside the right post for the game's only goal at the 40:10 mark.

Rochester had three chances late in the game. Celi Fletcher had a shot off penalty corner that was blocked and Katie Moll's follow-up attempt went wide. Another penalty corner with just over five minutes left produced a shot by Krista Butler. That shot was also blocked.
