GETTYSBURG, PA - Stephanie Klenotich curled a 30-yarder into the roof of the net with 1:14 to play as the women's soccer team defeated 21st-ranked Gettysburg College in the Gettysburg College Tournament.
The Yellowjackets parlayed a pair of 1-0 wins over top 25 opponents to a 2-0 start and the tournament title. Klenotich was named the Most Valuable Player. Rochester defeated 16th-ranked Mary Washington College on Saturday in the semifinals (1-0).
The winning goal came after 15 minutes of steady pressure on the Gettysburg defense. At trhe other end of the field, the defense was just as tough. Gettysburg attempted one shot.
Molly Leitch did not have to make any saves to pick up her second consecutive shutout.
Rochester is off until Saturday when the Yellowjackets make their first local appearance. Rochester will play at St. John Fisher College at 3 pm.
