BROCKPORT, NY - Mary DiMatteo scored both goals - one just 72 seconds into overtime - as the field hockey team defeated SUNY Brockport, 2-1.

The Yellowjackets snapped two streaks: they halted their own two-game losing streak and in the process, ended Brockport's six-game winning streak. Rochester is 11-6 overall. Brockport is 8-7.

Rachel Cahan made six saves for Rochester, one on a penalty stroke which kept the game tied at 1-1. Cahan has stopped four of five strokes this year.

Brockport took a 1-0 lead just 4:56 into the match when Sef Pokorski centered the ball from left wing and Allyson Granish steered it into the cage.

Rochester equalized off a penalty corner. Celinda Fletcher passed to DiMatteo for the tying goal at 48:20.

In the overtime, six players were battling for control of the ball in front of the Brockport goal. Revay Wilson pushed it to DiMatteo and the senior tapped it home at 71:12. It was her seventh goal of the season.

Shots were even at 11-11. Brockport had nine penalty corners, seven in the second half. Rochester had six penalty corners.
