Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men Nip Carnegie, 2-1



PITTSBURGH - Tyler Green scored with less than 10 minutes to play to help the men's soccer team defeat Carnegie Mellon University, 2-1.

Green tapped in a corner kick played into the goalmouth by Patrick Ripp at 80:11. It snapped a 1-1 tie and the Yellowjackets went on to victory over the Tartans.

Rochester is 8-4-3 overall, 2-2-2 in the University Athletic Association. Carnegie Mellon is 10-5-0 overall, 3-3-0 in the UAA. Rochester and CMU have combined to win the last six UAA team championships. Both teams made the NCAA Division III playoffs last season.

The Yellowjackets took a 1-0 lead at 3:56. Green tapped a ball to Neil Osuch and he laid a back pass into the path of Brian Tuohy who drive a 20-yard shot inside the right post.

Carnegie equalized at 69:52. Jonathan Hall played the ball forward to Jonathan Browne who hit a long shot past Rochester goalkeeper Paco Corbalan who charged off the line.

Corbalan made four saves for Rochester. Carnegie's Matthew Bazin made six saves and the Tartan defense cleared one off the line.
