STATEN ISLAND, NY - Stevens Tech defeated Rochester, 5-2, in the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs in a match played at The College of Staten Island.
Stevens broke it open quickly withf ive goals in the first 34 minutes. The home side struck in the 17th, 21st, 25th, 28th, and 34th minutes.
Rochester's goals came from Tyler Green and Nikc Mikolenko. Patrick Ripp assisted on both. In the 70th minute, Ripp fed Green for a header beyond the reach of Corey Connelly. At 82:32, Ripp found Mikolenko for the second goal.
Paco Corbalan played 78:31 with two saves. Brandon Campbell played the final 11:29. He had one save.
Rochester finished 9-6-3.
