Emily Urbanczyk and Laura Morrison scored second half goals to carry the women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over RIT at Fauver Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.
Just over eight minutes into the second half, the Yellowjackets were awarded a free kick 25 yards out on the right wing. Amy Thompson jumped over the ball and Urbanczyk struck a dipping shot that curled over RIT goalkeeper Ashley Conti and under the crossbar at 53:25.
At 67:09, Morrison hit a 25-yarder from straight on. Conti had come off the line and the ball bounced over her head and just over the goalline.
Rochester outshot the Tigers 22-0 and held a 10-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Molly Leitch earned the shutout for Rochester, her fourth solo this year. She also has one shared shutout. Conti played the first 80:16 for RIT. She made six saves and allowed two goals. Lynette Serbinski made two saves in 9:44 and the Tigers cleared one shot off the goalline.
Rochester is 5-0-1. RIT is 1-4-2.
