UTICA, N.Y. – Sophomore Lara Bucarey scored off a pass from Kari Plewniak 5:55 into sudden death to give the field hockey team a 3-2 victory over Utica College.
The goal was Bucarey's team-high fifth of the season and came after Plewniak broke through the Utica defense and pushed a pass into her path.
Rachel Cahan made 13 saves in goal for the Yellowjackets. Rochester improved to 4-1 with the victory. Utica is 2-3. Amanda McDonnell made four saves for Utica.
Plewniak gave Rochester a 1-0 lead at 23:34 after a penalty corner from Erica Gelb. Utica tied it at 1-1 at 27:54 when Laurie Calvasina drove home a rebound after Cahan made a diving save to stop Tiffany Bichrest.
Utica went ahead, 2-1, at 49:47 on a goal by Katie Kutas set up by Bichrest. Rochester tied the score at 2-2 at 58:40. Alicia Citro tried a shot outside the circle and Amanda Case swept the ball into the net.
