Allison Beardsley and Lara Bucarey scored less than a minute apart late in the second half as Rochester defeated Oneonta, 3-2, at Fauver Stadium.
With the Red Dragons holding a 2-1 lead, Beardsley equalized at 61:51. Bucarey drilled the gamewinner at 62:44
The victory wasn't secured until Oneonta's Amanda Farro shot wide right of the cage after a close-in pass from Ainsley Stoll on a penalty corner with no time left on the clock.
Rochester finished the season at 12-8, matching the second highest win total in school history. Oneonta finished 6-13.
Bucarey gave the Yellowjackets a 1-0 lead just 47 seconds into the match. She scored on an eight-yard shot from right wing to the low left corner.
Oneonta fought back. At 14:05, Leslie Aitken fed a pass from left wing into the middle where Somer Shuffield fired a 15-yarder to the low left corner from straight out.
The Red Dragons took a 2-1 lead at 31:56. Brianne Galli played a penalty corner out to Stoll, then headed for goal. Stoll returned the pass and Galli buried a low shot into the right corner of the cage, beyond the reach of Danielle Pearson.
Rochester stepped up the pressure in the second half with Bucarey figuring in three good scoring chances before Beardsley's equalizer. In the first minute of the second half, her shot from in-close was kicked wide by Leslie Dauphinais. Twelve minutes in, she hit the right post after a penalty corner was played out by Erica Gelb to Christi Bottcher, then pushed over to Bucarey on the left side of the circle. With 14:30 to play, Bucarey drove deep into the circle. Dauphinais dove at her to challenge, then blocked a followup shot from Beardsley on left wing.
Oneonta had a good chance to boost the lead to 3-1 with 10:25 left. Farro carried the ball into the offensive zone and dumped a pass into the middle. Kathryn Kubaryk shot just wide of the right post.
At 61:51, Beardsley made a long solo run through the defense, came straight in, and placed a shot to the low left corner from six yards out to equalize.
At 62:44, The ball came to Bucarey from the right sideline. She volleyed a 15-yarder into the left side of the cage.
Dauphinais finished with 10 saves for Oneonta. Erika Dombkowski played the first 2:10 before Dauphinais came onto the field.
