PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Carnegie Mellon capitalized on an early first half misplay and went on to a 2-0 women's soccer victory over Rochester.
The Tartans opened the scoring in the ninth minute when a poor clearance was collected by CMU's Elsa Wu and she rolled the ball into an open net. The lead doubled at 64:47. Katie Davis lobbed the ball from the wing over the defense and Cecilia Zischkau was at the back post to nudge it into the goal.
Rochester is 10-4-3 overall, 2-2-2 in the University Athletic Association. Carnegie is 8-7 overall, 2-4 in the UAA. The Yellowjackets wrap up the regular season on Saturday at 5 pm in Fauver Stadium against Case Western Reserve.
Bridget Lang made three saves in goal for Rochester. Anya Rosen had seven saves for CMU. Each team cleared a ball off the line.
