PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher built an early lead with single runs in each of the first four innings and went on to a 10-2 victory over Rochester in college baseball at Dugan Yard.

The Cardinals broke it wide open in their last at-bat, scoring four runs against three Rochester pitchers.

Rochester scored its first run in the fourth inning. With one out, Steve Just singled through the left side. Matt Francis singled up the middle with Just taking second. He scored on Rob Barnard's single through the left side. A rally was short-circuited when Francis was caught stealing and Casey Storme bounced into a fielder's choice.

Down 6-1 heading into the seventh, the Yellowjackets mounted another rally. Storme singled with one out. Brian Bezek lined out. Blayne Fuke doubled down the left field line with Storme taking third. Andy Cannon was retired on a flyout to right field.

The Yellowjackets added an unearned run in the ninth. Matt Francis walked, advanced on Storme's single, took third on a passed ball, and scored when Blayne Fuke's grounder was thrown away.

Nick Cacciola, Ned Chanatry, and Phil DiLorenzo shared workload over the first six innings. They each surrendered two runs apiece. Jeff Rowan started the seventh inning for the Yellowjackets. Mike Wexler and Corey King worked in the eighth.

Rochester is 26-8 and returns to Liberty League play on Saturday and Sunday at Clarkson.
