SCHENECTADY, N.Y.– Rochester's top two scorers,
Anna Dobrzynski and
Allison Beardsley combined for all four goals as the Yellowjackets defeated Union College, 4-0, in a Liberty League match Saturday afternoon.
They each scored a pair of goals and Beardsley added an assist, her 16th of the year. Dobrzynski tied one single season record and broke a career mark. Her second goal of the match, scored with 53 seconds left, was her 18th goal this year and the 51st of her career. That breaks the record of Nancy Melvin Taylor '86. She scored 50 goals in her career. Dobrzynski also tied Taylor's single-season record of 18 goals.
Dobrzynski opened the scoring at 4:52 with
Belle Hoagland picking up the assist. Beardsley made it 2-0 at 7:15, then scored at 27:39 to increase the lead to 3-0.
Rochester held a 28-12 advantage in shots at goal.
Madison Wagner made seven saves for the shutout. Molly McCone had four saves in the first half for Union. Corey Hedges made 10 saves in the second half for the Dutchwomen. Union also had two team saves.
The Yellowjackets are 11-5 overall, 2-3 in the Liberty League.
