SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - Host Union College scored two goals four minutes apart early in the second half and edged Rochester, 2-1, in a matchup of nationally-ranked women's soccer teams. Rochester was eighth nationally in the NCAA Division III poll this week and Union was 15th heading into the match.
Kathryn Rowe gave Rochester a 1-0 at 26:13 when she latched onto a loose ball following a corner kick and directed it into the right side of the net.
Union equalized at 53:53 with Jennifer Mansfield's pass finding Whitney Bickford for the tying goal. Almost exactly four minutes later - at 57:55 - a Mansfield corner kick was headed home by Mollie Gilchrist.
The Dutchwomen outshot Rochester, 13-7 (10-7 in the first half). Rochester held a 7-6 advantage on corner kicks.
Bridget Lang made five saves in goal for the Yellowjackets. Mia Simone had two saves for Union.
Rochester is 5-1, Union 5-0.
