Yellowjackets Pull Out A Squeaker At Utica

UTICA, N.Y. - Alexis Vangellow snapped a 1-1 tie 10 minutes into the second half and Rochester edged Utica College, 2-1, on Wednesday evening.

The win boosts Rochester's record to 7-3. The Yellowjackets travel to Morrisville on Saturday, then host Washington & Jefferson College on Sunday.

Lindsey Randall took a shot after a Rochester penalty corner. The rebound fell to Vangellow and she directed it into the cage at 45:23.

Randall set up the first goal - scored by Anna Dobrzynski - at 37:32. Her crossing pass was turned into the cage by Dobrynzski for her 12th goal of the season. Utica got even three minutes later. Alaina Stojkovski's pass sent Mallory Mariano in for a breakaway at 40:47.

Madison Wagner made six saves for Rochester. Monica Storms had seven saves for Utica. Rochester held a slight 12-11 edge on shots and a 12-6 advantage on penalty corners.
