Kelly Mulrey and
Savannah Benton were both named to the New York Regional Challenge All-Tournament Team as they helped Rochester to a 3-1 overall finish.
The Yellowjackets split their two Saturday matches, losing to Stevens Institute of Technology, 3-2, then following with a 3-0 win over Mount St. Mary's College. Rochester is 21-10 overall.
Rochester lost its first two sets vs. Stevens when the Yellowjackets did not hit the ball well. Stevens won, 25-10 and 26-24. Rochester rallied with 25-19 and 25-13 wins to force the fifth game before Stevens prevailed, 15-10. Benton had 15 kills and
Alma Guevara had 12. Mulrey had eight kills and
Sara Ribakove had seven.
Lauren Bujnicki had 29 digs and Ribakove added 13 more.
Xiaoyi Li had 41 assists. Bujnicki served three aces, Ribakove and Li two apiece. Benton had six blocks, Lee and Guevara three each.
Against Mt. St. Mary's (25-22, 25-15, 25-15), Mulrey had a match-high 11 kills and Benton added 10. Ribakove had nine kills and Guevara supplied seven more. Li had 39 assists. Bujnicki had 14 digs.
Meghan Neff had five blocks, four of them solo.
