Emory Uses Balance To Upend Rochester



Misha Jackson posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds as visiting Emory University rolled past the University of Rochester, 79-68, at the Louis Alexander Palestra on Saturday afternoon.
 
Jackson was one of five double-figure scorers for the Eagles (18-7, 9-5 University Athletic Association).  Hannah Lilly scored 17 points. Danielle Landry and Becca Feldman had 12 points each and Savannah Morgan scored 10 points with seven rebounds.
 
Michelle Ketcham led Rochester with a career-high 16 points, including four three-point goals. Danielle Mcnabb scored 17 points. The Yellowjackets are 19-6 overall, 8-6 in the UAA. Rochester is ranked #19 by D3hoops.com and #22 by the WBCA this week.
 
Emory scored 15 points off 11 Rochester turnovers in the first half. The Eagles led by as much as nine, 29-20, on Feldman's three-pointer with 8:50 left. The lead was still nine, 35-26, at 4:42 before Rochester closed the half on a 7-2 burst to pull within 37-33.
 
Rochester led by a point on three separate occasions in the second half – after a layup by Loren Wagner, after two free throws by McNabb, and then after a three-point goal by Blair Landolfi. With Rochester ahead, 57-56, Emory ran off a 13-0 spurt over four minutes to take a 69-57 lead with 6:34 to play. Jackson and Feldman scored five points apiece in the burst.
