EWING, N.J. – Rochester played one person down and held off the nation's third-ranked team until Johns Hopkins University scored two goals in a three-minute span to take control in a 4-0 women's soccer victory at The College of New Jersey Classic.
Katie Sappio was red-carded for Rochester in the 26th minute when the referee determined that she was the last player back and prevented a goal scoring chance. Rochester played the final 64-plus minutes with 10 players.
Hannah Kronick scored three times for the Blue Jays, including the game's final goal with 13 seconds left to play. Sydney Teng set up the first goal at 63:47, scored by Kronick. Teng scored the second goal, nearly three minutes to the second later (66:42), set up by Issy Berkey. Kronick got her second of the game at 76:43, knocking the ball home from close range after a scramble in the box.

Bridget Lang had pushed forward on a corner kick as the Yellowjackets tried to pull back a score. The Blue Jays cleared it, got it to Kronick and she lofted a 45-yard shot into an open net at 89:47.
In the opening round, Johns Hopkins defeated Skidmore College, 1-0, while Rochester lost to host TCNJ, 1-0.
Lang made a career high 16 saves. Johns Hopkins outshot Rochester, 32-2. The Yellowjackets will play host Fredonia this Friday in the Fredonia Clarion Classic. Rochester will take on Geneseo St. on Saturday in the tournament's second round. The Yellowjackets open their home season on September 12 against RIT at 7 pm in Fauver Stadium.
