ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa – Rochester defeated Ramapo College and Bridgewater College, both by 3-0 scores, to finish second at the Elizabethtown College Blue Jay Classic women's volleyball tournament.
Host Elizabethtown won the Classic with a 4-0 record. Rochester finished second at 3-1. The Yellowjackets lost, 3-2, to the Blue Jays on Friday night right after defeating York College (PA) in five sets.
Kelly Mulrey and
Savannah Benton were named to the All-Tournament team from Rochester.
The Yellowjackets opened Saturday play with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-14 win over Ramapo.
Sara Ribakove and
Alma Guevara had 10 kills each. Mulrey had seven kills and Benton supplied eight.
Meghan Neff had five kills and three blocks.
Lauren Bujnicki had 10 digs. Ribakove had eight.
Dori Rohan had eight digs and four service aces.
Xiaoyi Li had 31 assists.
Against Bridgewater, Rochester won, 25-16, 25-17, 25-11. Mulrey and Guevara topped the kills list with 10 each. Ribakove had five plus eight digs. Bujnicki had 17 digs. Paige Idzuir had seven. Li registered 27 assists and seven digs.
Rochester is 14-4 overall. The Yellowjackets will host St. John Fisher on Tuesday, then play in the first UAA round robin next weekend at the University of Chicago.
