CHICAGO - Rochester lost its first two matches in the University Athletic Association round robin in women's volleyball on Saturday. Washington defeated Rochester, 25-20, 225-20, 25-17. Case Western Reserve defeated Rochester, 25-20, 18-25, 25-19, 25-12. The Yellowjackets are 15-6. They will play Brandeis on Sunday.
In the match against top-ranked Washington,
Alma Guevara and
Kelly Mulrey had seven kills apiece.
Sara Ribakove had five kills, and
Savannah Benton had four.
Lauren Bujnicki had 21 digs, Mulrey chipped in 14, and Ribakove had 11.
Xiaoyi Li had 20 assists, two kills, seven digs, and two block assists.
Meghan Neff also had two block assists.
Benton was the leader in kills against Case. She finished with 10. Guevara and Mulrey had eight apiece. Neff added five. Bujnicki finished with 28 digs and Mulrey had 16. Li had 29 assists. Ribakove had two of Rochester's four service aces. Benton had three solo blocks and two block assists. Guevara had one solo and three block assists.
