The University of Rochester field hockey team remained unbeaten with an impressive 4-1 win over a tough visiting SUNY Geneseo team on Friday afternoon at Fauver Stadium.
All four classes were represented in the goal scoring for Rochester (4-0). Senior

Lindsey Randall, sophomore
Belle Hoagland and freshman
Michelle Relin all scored for the Yellowjackets. Junior Kerry Hosford scored the lone goal for the Blue Knights (1-2).
Geneseo got a couple shots on Rochester goalie
Madison Wagner early off of penalty corners, but the UR keeper held strong with two quick saves. She would finish with four on the day and improve her record to 4-0.
In the seventh minute, the freshman Relin unleashed a hard shot on Blue Knight keeper Caitlyn Dowell who saved it away. But Hoagland was in the right place at the right time and was able to clean up the rebound for a 1-0 lead.
Rochester was able to control possession for most of the remaining time in the first half. Geneseo was able to get a good scoring chance with 20 seconds remaining, but Elena Hingston's shot was saved by defender
Kathryn Montgomery and Wagner. The score remained 1-0 in favor of the home team at the half.
The Blue Knights played excellent defense early in the second half and transitioned well into the offensive zone, generating a number of quality chances, but could not push anything through.
In the 43
rd minute, Rochester would double to lead to 2-0 when the freshman Relin broke free on the right wing and fired a hard shot to the low left corner of the net past Dowell. It was her sixth goal of the season and fourth in the last two games.
Geneseo was able to tack on a score of its own in the 64
th minute, when Hosford found the back of the net off a great entry pass from teammate Chellie Johnston.
UR would tack on two goals late to put the game away. The first came from a Randall blast from the top of the circle in the 67
th minute. The second was a Hall tap-in off of a rebound less than a minute later. It was Hall's fifth score on the year.
Dowell finished with five saves for Geneseo but dropped her record to 1-2.
Rochester returns to action on Sunday (9/9) for a home contest against Oneonta State at 12 pm.
