CLEVELAND – Rochester's last opponent in the UAA Round Robin volleyball tournament will be its first when the championships are held on the River Campus in a little under three weeks' time.

The Yellowjackets lost to Carnegie Mellon and to host Case Western Reserve by duplicate 3-0 scores on Sunday to finish with a 2-5 record in conference action. That makes Rochester the #6 seed for the championships. Case will be the third seed after fashioning a 5-2 record in round robin action.

These are the matchups with round robin records in parentheses: #1 Emory (7-0) vs. #8 Brandeis (0-7), #2 Washington-St. Louis (6-1) vs. #7 NYU (1-6), #3 Case (5-2) vs. #6 Rochester (2-5), and #4 Carnegie Mellon (4-3) vs. #5 Chicago (3-4). The tournament will be conducted in the Louis Alexander Palestra and the Zornow Sports Center on Friday and Saturday, November 6-7.

On Sunday, Carnegie defeated Rochester, 25-18, 25-14, 25-22. Shira Katz led the Yellowjackets with 15 kills. Jennie Ford had 14 kills and 14 digs. Emma Gira had four kills, and Alexandra Goldman had three kills plus two block assists.

Aimee Kohler had 29 assists and seven digs. Meg Connor had nine digs and three assists. Audrey Goldfarb had six digs.

Case Reserve pulled out a tough 25-23 victory in game one. The Spartans won game two, 25-18, and completed the 3-0 win with a 25-20 triumph in game three.

Katz was Rochester's kill leader again, this time with 12. She also had three digs. Ford had nine kills and 17 digs. Kayla Sell had six kills. Kohler contributed 30 assists, 13 digs, and two block assists.

Nina Baek had eight digs while Alexandra Nelligan had two kills, two digs, and three block assists.

Rochester's overall mark is 12-13. The Yellowjackets will celebrate Senior Day on Wednesday at the Palestra, just before a 6 pm tip-off vs. Elmira College.
