The Saints put that defense on display on the first series. Kyle Allegrini returned the SLU kickoff 49 yards to the Saint 48. With Rochester facing 3rd-and0-13 at the SLU 34, Bronson hit Shane Saucier for 4 yards and on 4th-and9, he found Wager for 12 to get a first down at the Saint 18. Nick Perpignan rushed for five yards, but three straight plays went for negative yardage.

SLU recovered a Bronson fumble later in the quarter and two Lefflbine completions later – both to Ferraro – the Saints were in the end zone.

Rochester got deep into Saint territory in the fourth quarter with Bronson as the driving force. He ran for 29 yards and completed four passes. The drive was helped by two penalties against the Saints –a personal foul and an unsportsmanlike conduct. On 3rd-and-8 at the Saint 13, Bronson's pass into the end zone was intercepted.
