GENESEO, N.Y. – Rochester posted its fifth straight victory, this one a 3-1 triumph over SUNY Geneseo early on Saturday to close out the regular season.

Michelle Relin scored all three goals for the Yellowjackets. Callie Fisher and Miranda Lakis had the assists. The Yellowjackets led, 2-0, at halftime. Geneseo pulled a goal back five minutes into the second half, but Relin turned home a pass from Lakis with 10 minutes remaining to provide insurance.

With the victory, Rochester improves to 15-4. Geneseo slipped to 10-8.

Tara Lamberti made eight saves and allowed the single goal. Danya Mercer made 14 saves for Geneseo and the Knights registered two defensive saves – one of those by the goalscorer.

Relin opened the scoring at 19:50, driving the ball from the left half of the circle into the right corner of the goal. At 31:24, she made it 2-0 off an assist from Fisher. She came in along the right half of the circle and lined a low shot past Mercer.

Geneseo scored its goal off a penalty corner with Elena Hingston collecting a pass from Morgan Maley at the top of the circle and driving it home at 40:04. Relin completed her hat trick at 60:58. She took the Lakis pass and beat defenders from the top of the circle.

Offensively, the teams were fairly even in the first half with Rochester holding a 10-9 advantage, 10-4 on penalty corners. In the second half, Rochester had a decided 14-4 advantage in shots, 10-4 on penalty corners.
