GENEVA, N.Y. – Hobart College broke through with a goal in each half and held off Rochester down the stretch to post a 2-1 men's soccer victory on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets are 1-2-1 on the season. Hobart improved to 4-1.

Redd Brown made four saves in net for the Yellowjackets. Hobart's Tyler Serafine made three saves. Hobart had a 13-12 edge on shots. Corner kicks were even at 6-6.

Ben Swanger scored the Yellowjacket goal on a penalty kick at 73:16. Hobart led, 1-0, at 31:22. Tyler Niles shot and Brown parried the shot. In the scramble, Joseph Escamilla managed to direct it home, putting the Statesmen on the board first.

The lead grew to 2-0 when Patrick Schulz broke through in the box. Swanger put Rochester on the board  from the penalty spot at 73:16. Serafine was issued a yellow card before the kick was taken.
