Volleyball Finishes Tied for 4th at Cortland

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Jennie Ford secured a place on the Red Dragon All-Tournament Team after getting 28 kills and 34 digs on the second day.
 
Rochester finished in a five-way tie for fourth place with a 2-2 record. The Yellowjackets lost to Lebanon Valley and SUNY Fredonia by scores of 3-2. LVC posted a 25-19, 21-25, 21-25, 25-18, 15-13 victory. Fredonia took the first two matches vs. Rochester by scored of 25-23 and 25-21. UR battled back to even it up with wins of 25-23 and 25-14. Fredonia won the tiebreak game five, 15-6.
 
Against LVC, Ford had 16 kills, Shira Katz had 14, and Emma Gira had nine. Aimee Kohler had 34 assists. Ashley Hunter had five aces and Alexandra Goldman had two. Meghan Connor and Kohler were the dig leaders with 16 each. Hunter had 13 a,d Ford registered eight.
 
Goldman had one solo block and three block assists. Gira had two solos and two assists. Katz had one of each. Nina Baek and Kohler had one block assist each.
 
Gira was the kill leader vs. Fredonia. She had 14. Ford had 12, Katz nine, and Kayla Sell registered eight kills. Alexandra Nelligan had five.
 
Connor had a team-high 27 digs and Ford had 26. Courtney Vidovich had 9, Kohler 12, and Hunter had seven. Hunter had 41 assists and two aces. Vidovich had two aces as well. Connor had three aces.
 
Gira had one ace, one block solo, and two block assists. Sell had one block solo and one block assist. Alexandra Nelligan had two block assists. Goldman had one block solo.
