SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Union College kept Rochester's offense in check and was then able to run the ball effectively enroute to a 31-15 victory over the Yellowjackets at Frank Bailey Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Liberty League tangle dropped Rochester's record to 1-6 overall, 0-5 in the Liberty League. Union snapped a four-game losing streak. The Dutchmen are 2-5 overall, 1-3 in the Liberty League.
Rochester has a week off before the Yellowjackets host WPI on November 5. It will be Senior Day. UR closes the football season on November 12 at Hobart in the battle for the Centennial Cup.

Union backs Conor Kinzelman and Jermaine Carn combined for 321 yards rushing and three TDs. In 23 carries, Kinzelman ran for 168 yards and two scored. He broke free for a 52-yard scoring spring later in the second quarter to put Union ahead for good, 10-7. He added a 10-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Carn rushed 23 times for 153 yards. He scored on a 19-yard run to end a 10-play, 60-yard drive in the third period.

Rochester's touchdowns were a three-yard rush by
Emanuel Calmar in the second quarter and a three-yard pass from
Daniel Bronson to
David Angie late in the final quarter. Bronson then threw a two-point conversion pass to Angie to complete the scoring.

Union opened the scoring with five minutes gone in the second period. After Rochester punter
Paul Mokrzycki was forced to run and tackled at his own 19, Union drove into position and Jonathan Schaible kicked a 28-yard field goal.

Rochester answered with a seven-play, 34-yard drive that ended with the TD run by Calmar and the PAT by
Andrew Haber. Bronson ran for eight yards and 10 yards on consecutive plays to keep the drive going.

The key play came just at the halftime whistle. Union drove 81 yards in 11 plays and scored on a 21-yard pass from Nick Cascione to Alex Kaplanovic. It pushed the Dutchmen lead to 17-7. TD runs by Carn (in the third) and Kinzelman (in the fourth) ended the scoring.

Bronson's touchdown pass to Angie was his 11
th scoring throw this year, a career high for him. It was also his 30
th career TD pass and moves him into a three-way tie for career TD passes. He is tied with Dave Wormuth (1962-64) and Dean Kennedy (2010-13).

Defensively,
David Wolff had a game-high 14 tackles (five solo, nine assists).
Josh Churchin (4-5) had nine stops. Three men had seven tackles:
Kevin LeBlanc (4-3-7),
Ricky Simcic (3-4-7), and
Tim Mascari (3-4-7).

Bronson led Rochester with 57 rushing yards on 16 carries. He completed 17 of 39 passes for 143 yards. He was not intercepted, but was sacked three times. Angie caught eight passes for 42 yards.
Shawn Silleman had three catches.
Kyle Allegrini and
Max Berger had two catches apiece.
