FAUVER STADIUM – Rochester closed out the regular season portion of its schedule with a 3-0 victory over Utica College on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference game. It was the third straight win for the Yellowjackets and sixth in the last seven games.

UR improved to 16-3 overall, 9-1 at Fauver Stadium. Rochester will play at William Smith College in the Liberty League semifinals on Wednesday at 6 pm. Utica College closed its season at 5-13 overall.

Callie Fisher scored one goal and set up another.
Claire Dickerson and
Olivia Denny also scored for Rochester.
Sayaka Abe and
Maya Haigis had assists. In goal,
Gabrielle Cantley (35 mins.,),
Kiran Sundaram (24:16), and
Kate Kujawa (10:44) shared the shutout. They were not required to make a save. Samantha Whitehouse made nine saves in 70 minutes in goal for the Pioneers.

This was Senior Day on the River Campus and the five seniors were honored with their families before the game:

Rochester put up steady pressure on the Utica goal and finally broke through with 6:16 left in the first half. Fisher had the ball on the left side of the circle. She passed it to Denny who shot off the pads of Whitehouse into the far right corner for a 1-0 lead. For Denny, it was goal number four this year while Fisher picked up her fifth assist.

The Yellowjackets put it away with two goals in the second half. Abe moved along the right endline and passed to Dickerson near the top of the circle. She scored under Whitehouse's split for a 2-0 edge at 49:36. It was her 11
th goal of the season and the 15
th assist for Abe.

Fisher netted her 13
th goal of the year at 56:38. Haigis pushed the ball ahead on the right and deep into the circle where Fisher hit a first-time shot between Whitehouse's legs for a 3-0 lead.
