PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Rochester couldn't get the bats working consistently on Wednesday afternoon and wound up falling to the St. John Fisher College Cardinals, 14-2, at Dugan Yard in a non-conference matchup. UR falls to 7-7 overall on the year; while the Cardinals improve to 12-6 overall.

The Yellowjackets scored their two runs in the 4
th inning to tie the score. Jake Meyerson started the inning off with a walk, followed by a Nolan Schultz single to right field. Aiden Finch singled to right field, scoring Meyerson and cutting the Cardinal lead to 2-1. Steve Eychner later drove in Shultz with a sac-fly to right field to knot it at 2-2.

With Liberty League games vs. St. Lawrence looming this weekend, Rochester used eight pitchers. Andrew Klee, the third Yellowjacket hurler, took the loss. In two thirds of an inning, he was roughed up for four hits, a walk, and three runs. That put the hosts ahead to stay at 5-2.

The Cardinals finished with 16 hits on the day; Nate Roethel (4), Cody Wiktorski (2), Mike Roman (2), Victor Konstantinovsky (2), and Evan Ryan (2) led the way for Fisher. An RBI triple from Malcolm Kelsey started a 3 run rally for the Cardinals in the bottom of the 4
th with  RBI's also coming from Roethel and Kontantinovsky. In the 6
th, a Wiktorski triple scored Ryan and Konstantinovsky and a Roman single up the middle scored Roethel pushing the lead to 9-2. The Cardinals then added five runs in the bottom of the 7
th to squander UR's comeback chances.

Dominick Pisciotto got the win for Fisher pitching 5.2 innings allowing four hits, two earned runs, and striking out four batters. Â

The Yellowjackets return to action Friday at home where they will take on St. Lawrence University in a double header; first game will begin at 3pm and the second game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm, roughly. Rochester and St. Lawrence will also play a twinbill on Saturday. First pitch for game one on Saturday is 12 pm.
