CLEVELAND – Rochester found its offensive touch on Friday night and with it, the initial University Athletic Association win of the season in a 3-0 victory at Case Western Reserve University.

The Yellowjackets evened their overall mark to 7-7-1 and their UAA record to 1-4-0. CWRU is 6-10 overall, 0-5 in the UAA.

Rochester scored goals less than six minutes apart as the game approached the hour mark. The third goal came with 15 minutes to play.

Mastoloni made it 2-0
Pamela Chan opened the scoring at 55:26. She connected on a shot from the right side of the box to the lower left hand corner.
Liz Mastoloni made it 2-0 at 61:17, scoring from the far right side of the field t the top left corner of the net. It was the second goal of the year for each player.

Tompkins notched her first goal of the season at 75:08, cutting into the middle of the box and driving the ball into the net.

The Spartans applied some late game pressure, producing three corner kicks in the last 10 minutes.

Emma Campbell earned the victory for Rochester. She made five saves. Lauren Unterborn made two saves for CWRU. Shots on goal were even at 5-5. CWRU had an overall edge, 11-9, in total shots. The hosts finished with seven corner kicks and Rochester had four.

UR heads to Carnegie Mellon University on Sunday. CMU defeated Emory 2-1, on Friday and sits third in the table with 10 points. Chicago is the leader at 5-0 with Washington second at 4-1. UR wraps up the season on November 4 at Emory.
