The United Soccer Coaches have selected their Scholar All-Americans and All-Region student-athletes for the 2017 season and two members of the University of Rochester men's soccer team were selected.

Junior midfielder
Bryce Ikeda was both a Scholar All-American and Scholar All-East Region selection, while senior goalkeeper
Redd Brown was a Scholar All-Region honoree. Ikeda was selected as a 1st Team All-Region player and 3rd Team All-American while Brown was 3rd Team All-Region.

The Scholar All-American and All-Region awards combines a players on-field prowess with their academic efforts in the classroom. In order to be selected, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, have started more than 50 percent of all games and be an elite player as supported by their playing honors which includes All-conference recognition or contributions to the success of his or her team. Also, the players must be a junior or above in academic standing at their current institution or be in the second year at an institution if a transfer student.

Ikeda earns his awards after being recognized as a 3rd Team All-Region honoree by the United Soccer Coaches, a 2nd Team selection within the UAA and an Academic All-District representative as selected by CoSIDA. This season, the co-captain produced 14 points for Rochester, scoring five goals and adding four assists. He recorded one game-winning goal and added an assist on UR's game-winner in the NCAA Sweet 16 contest against Amherst.

The Tacoma, Washington native currently carries at 3.74 grade point average in his Electrical and Computer Engineering major.

Brown had a magnificent season in goal for the Yellowjackets, starting all 21 games and ended up playing all but 45 minutes. He finished the season with a 14-4-3 record, a 0.84 GAA (18 goals allowed) and a .775 save percentage (62 saves). The senior also had nine solo shutouts, matching the school record set back in 1997. He also was a 2nd Team All-UAA honoree and CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.

The Chalfont, Pennsylvania native has posted a 3.78 grade point average throughout his collegiate career so far and is an Economics and Religion major.
