GENEVA, N.Y. – Rochester was unable to muster any consistency to its offense in the first half and Hobart College jumped on that opportunity early in posting a 52-7 victory over the Yellowjackets at Urick Stadium on the Hobart campus Saturday.

The Statesmen (4-2, 2-0 Liberty League) kept possession of the Centennial Cup with the win over UR. The Cup was created in 2007 to mark the 100th game between the Upstate New York rivals.

Rochester is 0-2 in the Liberty League with the loss, 1-5 overall. The Yellowjackets play at Ithaca College next Saturday.

Hobart came into the game fresh off a victory over Union College last Saturday. With a chance to seize a 2-0 league start, the hosts took advantage. The Statesmen scored three TDs apiece in the first two quarters, the scored on their first possession of the second half.

For Rochester, quarterback
Matt Gallagher hit 10 of 18 passes for 78 yards.
Josh Brown came in and directed the UR scoring drive. It covered 16 yards in four plays, with Brown throwing a TD pass to
Justin Daul 1:43 into the fourth quarter.

Joshua Liao ran 11 times for 37 yards.
Damon Yargeau gained 17 yards, Brown and
Sean Mannion ran for 12 eac. Gallagher was sacked four times.

Dan Diaz had two catches each.

Hobart ran for 280 yards and four TDs, then passed for 193 more and three scores. Defensively for UR,
