Nasir Smith ran for 269 yards and three touchdowns and Aaron Griffin added a pair of scores as Alfred University defeated the University of Rochester, 41-13, in the regular season finale for both teams at Edwin Fauver Stadium.

Alfred finished the season with a 6-4 record. Rochester finished 1-9.

Smith gained his 269 yards on 22 carries. He had a pair of 69-yard TD runs in the third quarter. He also scored AU's second TD, a four-yard run that climaxed a 15-play, 95-yard drive in period two. It was 14-0 at halftime. The Saxons four touchdowns in the third period to open a 41-0 lead. Griffin carried 12 times for 94 yards.

In all, Alfred rushed for 465 net yards and passed for 47 more. AU competed four of 10 passes.

Rochester quarterback
Matt Gallagher hit 20 of 28 passes for 204 yards, two touchdowns, and one INT. He was sacked twice.

Gallagher threw a 14-yard TD pass to
Dan Diaz early in the fourth quarter, then completed a 29-yard TD pass to
Noah Shinaman with 5:31 left in the game.

Rochester rushed for 35 net yards. The Yellowjackets finished with 239 yards in offense. Shinaman caught seven passes for 90 yards and Diaz had six grabs for 53 yards.

Defensively for Alfred, Sean Cameron had two sacks for 17 yards in losses. Leo Pamphile had nine tackles. Cole Reed had eight, and Nick Milgate had seven.

Cole McHugh had nine tackles.
Deon Willis and Grnt Meyerson had six apiece.

After forcing a three-and-out by Rochester on the first possession, AU marched 60 yards in eight plays with Griffin scoring on a 0-yard run.
Rochester took the ensuing kickoff and drove from its own 26 deep into Alfred territory. Gallagher's 20-yard throw to Shinaman gave the Yellowjackets a first-and-goal at the AU 10.
Sean Mannion carried down to the one, but the AU defense stiffened after that. Pamphile and Raeqwon Greer stopped Mannion for no gain on second down. Reed tackled him for a one-yard loss on third and goal. On fourth down, Reed and Milgate broke through to tackle Mannion off tackle trying to go left. The Saxons took over at their own five, then marched downfield for the second touchdown.
