TUCSON, AZ – Rochester lost to Illinois-Wesleyan, 4-1, in its second game Saturday in the NFCA Leadoff Classic shortly after a lost to Christopher Newport University on a game ended by the mercy rule in the fifth inning.

Hannah Leahy pitched her second complete game of the spring against the Titans. She allowed 10 hits, four runs, three earned runs, struck out three and walked three. She worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the top of the first and allowed only one unearned run to the Titans.

IWU used three base hits and a walk to score twice in the fifth for a 3-0 edge. Rochester got on the board in the bottom of the fifth. With one down,Â
Gianna Melillo singled and
Michaela Farmer ran for her. After a popout,
Bailyn Piecewicz singled, advanced two bases on an error and Farmer came around to score – after the error on Piecewicz' hit and another error, this one in the outfield. The run was scored as unearned.

IWU added its final run in the seventh on a solo home run. In the opener, the Yellowjackets lost, 16-1, to CNU.

Rochester concludes its trip on Sunday with games vs. Pacific University and Virginia Wesleyan University.
