BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Rochester won its fifth straight field hockey match, this one a 6-3 victory over the College at Brockport on Tuesday evening. The win boosted UR's record to 8-4 overall. Brockport is 7-5.

Catherine Hauser scored twice for the Yellowjackets.
Amanda Strenk,
Kira Ozer,
Colleen Maillie, and
Juney Lee added single goals. Ozer,
Amanda Guido,
Kathryn Colone, and
Maya Haigis picked up assists.

The Brockport offense came from Renee Lauer (one goal, one assist), Bailey Lazore, and Kathryn Mello. Emily Hall assisted on the Lauer goal that cut the UR lead to 5-3 with nine minutes left.

Hauser opened the scoring just 2:35 in, slipping around Golden Eagle goaltender Cara Hall and tucking the ball home on the left side.

Strenk scored with Guido assisting four and a half minutes later. After a penalty corner, Guido fed the ball into the crcle and Strenk converted.Ozer made it 3-0 before halftime. Colone supplied a pass from the left side and Ozer drove it home from the top of the circle.

Midway through the third. Lauer ripped a hard shot in the circle and Lazore got a stick on it to deflect it to the top right corner (3-1).

Maillie scored from the top of the circle shortly before the third quarter horn. Hauser netted her second less than a minute into the fourth with Ozer suppling the assist. Goals from Mello and Lauer gave the Eagles some offense. Lee and Haigis finished a nice combination on a penalty corner with 2:20 to play. Lee inserted, cut to the cage, and Haigis returned the ball for the sixth goal.

Kate Kujawa had two saves for Rochester. Cara Fox made 15 saves for Brockport. UR held a 21-5 advantage in shots on goal.

The Yellowjackets return to Fauver Stadium on Saturday at 5 p.m. to host Skidmore in a Liberty League match. Before the game, the Yellowjackets will honor their seniors.
