Coming off of a 21-point win on Friday night, the University of Rochester men's basketball team travelled to Cleveland to face off against conference foe Case Western Reserve University. Rochester came out on top 68-62 to improve to 20-4 on the season and 10-3 in conference play.

Last time these two teams met, UR came away victorious in an 81-68 victory. The game would be just a little closer this time around.

The Yellowjackets opened up the game on a quick 5-0 run after
Andrew Lundstrom made a quick two and three to open up the scoring. The lead would not last long as the Spartans would go on a quick 7-0 run. Case Western would lead by as many as six in the first half with 15:07 remaining.

Rochester would start to gain some momentum and trade baskets with the Spartans for the rest of the half and go up 33-28 at the break.

In the first half, UR shot 50% from the floor and 100% from the line. The Yellowjackets struggled from beyond the arc in the first half, shooting just one of five.
Jacob Wittig led the way for Rochester at the half with eight points.

Rochester would carry the momentum into the second half, leading by as many as ten with 10:20 left in the second. The double digit lead would not last long as the Spartans would tie the game at 51 just two minutes later.

Rochester found themselves tied with Case at 60 with 1:56 remaining in the game.
Ryan Clamage would go on to score six of Rochester's next eight to allow the Yellowjackets to pull away with a six-point victory over the Spartans.

Clamage led the way for Rochester with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Wittig contributed with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in the win. Lundstrom finished with 9 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 block.
Ryan Algier posted 9 points, 3 blocks, and 2 boards.

With the win, the Yellowjackets achieve 10 conference wins for the 5
th time in the
Luke Flockerzi era. This is also the 4
th time in that same time frame that Rochester achieves 20 wins.
In UR men's basketball history, this was the 1400th all-time victory and 13th 20-win season

Rochester remains tied for first in the UAA Standings, with Emory beating Carnegie Mellon 89-74. The two teams will face off on Saturday February 23
rd at Emory University. The winner will receive the conference title and an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
