GOERGEN CENTER COURTS – With the University Athletic Association championships just one week away, the men's tennis team finished its regular season on a high note with an 8-1 victory over RIT at the Goergen Center Courts on Thursday afternoon. It improves Rochester's record to 12-5. RIT is 6-9.

All six singles players won in straight sets for Rochester. The Yellowjackets took the first and third doubles. Rochester had three double winners.
Masaru Fujimaki and
Yifan Shen were first doubles winners (8-6 over Brennan Bull and Jacob Meyerson). Fujimaki defeated Bull, 6-0, 6-0, at first singles and Shen won, 6-0, 6-1 vs. Spencer Lowitt at second singles.
The two wins pushed Fujimaki to 100 victories combined in singles and doubles for his Yellowjacket career. He becomes the 18th member of the 100-win club in UR men's tennis history and the first since Ian Baranowski and Ben Shapiro reached the mark in the 2015-16 season.

The third double winner was
Runjia Fang. He paired with
Peter Huang for a 8-1 win at hird doubles, against Jake Wolicki and Carter Casimir. Then Fan won against Patrick Mathews, 6-2, 6-2, at third singles.

Rochester's other singles winners were
Mark Zolotukhin against Wolicki at fourth singles (6-3, 6-3),
Sahaj Somani, 6-0, 6-0 vs. Michael Peters at fifth singles, and
Matt Resnikoff against David Trimmer at sixth singles (6-0, 6-1).

RIT earned its point at second doubles. Mathews and Nick Lim edged Somani and
Uriah Miller.

UR won the third and first doubles for a 2-0 lead before RIT won the point at second doubles. Resnikoff made it 3-1 UR, Shen followed with his win at #2 singles, and Fujimaki clinched the team victory with his shutout win at first singles. Fang, Zolutukhin, and Somani followed.
