After an abbreviated 2020-21 season last spring with Rochester finishing with a 4-2 record overall, the men's basketball team returns to a full slate of games for the upcoming 2021-22 Division III season.
 
Head Coach Luke Flockerzi enters his 12th season at the helm of Rochester and has a 179-88 record with the club. Overall, UR returns everyone but one player from the 2020-21 roster and all but three return from the clubs last full season two years ago.
 
The Rochester schedule gets underway with a home game on November 9 against SUNY Geneseo, with tip-off set for 8 pm.
 
That weekend, the annual UR Chuck Resler Invitational Tournament takes place. UR, Southern Virginia, Houghton and SUNY Cortland make up the field which will play games on Friday (11/12) and Saturday (11/13) at 1 and 6 pm. Southern Virginia and Houghton play first with UR taking on Cortland in the opening round.
 
During the next week, Rochester plays at Nazareth College in the Marks Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout, the fifth version of the tournament, and one which has seen Rochester go 2-0 every year. The 'Jackets take on host Nazareth on November 18 before playing St. John Fisher two days later.
 
A Tuesday matchup at the Palestra against Hobart precedes Thanksgiving break, with the annual Holiday Inn Rochester Downtown Tournament closing out the holiday weekend. On November 27, UR hosts Stockton and Olivet plays Elmira in the opening round games of the tournament. Sunday's second round games are set for noon and 2 pm.
 
The first semester of games concludes on December 7 with a road game at Ithaca College.
 
UR takes to the floor with two early January road contests to warm up for UAA conference play. The Yellowjackets travel to Indiana to take on DePauw University on January 2 and return to western NY for a road contest at Buffalo State on January 5.
 
UAA play opens on January 8 with Rochester hosting Emory in the Palestra at noon. The three-game home stand continues the following weekend as UR hosts Chicago on Friday night and Washington-St. Louis on Sunday. This year, the UAA schedule has the men playing the early games, at 5:30 and noon, on both Friday's and Sunday's respectively, with the women's teams holding the later starts during conference games.
 
Rochester's first road trip in the UAA this season is to Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve on January 21 and 23.
 
The next week starts turnaround week on the schedule, as NYU and Brandeis come to the River Campus to close out the month of January. The following week, the same teams meet, but with UR traveling to NYC and Waltham for road contests.
 
Chicago hosts Rochester on February 11 and Washington-St. Louis is the host on February 13 as UR embarks on its always tough Midwest trip.
 
Returning home the following week is Rochester, as the Yellowjackets host Carnegie Mellon and Case Western Reserve to close out the regular season home schedule with Friday and Sunday matchups.
 
The final game of the UAA season is set for February 26 on the road at Emory.
