ALEXANDER PALESTRA – Rochester put on an entertaining display in a celebration of Senior Night against Houghton College. The Yellowjackets (6-15) won in straight sets, 25-13, 25-13, 25-22. Houghton is 7-9 overall. Nazareth College is the next opponent for both teams – visiting Houghton on Saturday and coming to the Palestra next Tuesday for Rochester's final home game of the 2021 campaign.

Before the match began, the Yellowjackets honored their three seniors:
Megan Hauer,
Kaylin Williams, and
Lauren Lopez. Hauer played as the libero in all three wins. Williams played up front. She finished with career highs in kills (9) and in blocks with six (one solo, five block assists). She added one dig.

Hauer had two assists, one ace, and 11 digs. She came through in the third set when Rochester, after trailing through much of the set, stormed back to eventually tie, then take the lead. In the third set, there were six ties and three lead changes. Over the three sets, there were 11 ties and six lead changes.

Megan Gatz was runnerup to Williams with eight kills.
Ella Sokolowski had five kills and Anna Cerezer had four. Twelve players registered at least one kill for Rochester.

The Yellowjackets finished with seven aces –
Zaira Reyes was the leader with three. Areti Tsirkaki had two. Hauer and
Sonia McGaffigan had one apiece. Hauer led all players with 11 digs. Gatz compiled eight.
La'i Yuen had six. Cerezer and Reyes had five apiece and Sokolowski chipped in with four. Reyes had 23 assists and
Isabelle Miranda had seven.

Gillian Reeder with one BA apiece.

The statistical leaders for Houghton were Julie Immel with eight kills and seven digs, Ella Smith with six kills, Haley Unverdorben with three kills, five digs, Â and 17 assists. Rebekah Clark had eight digs, Alyssa Lyon had seven digs, Bekah Fenn had six digs.

Rochester hit .308 in the first set. Williams and Gatz had three kills. Gatz had six digs, Cerezer and Reyes had three each. In the second set, the Yellowjackets hit .320, led by Cerezer with four kills, Williams with three. Hauer had four digs. Gatz had four kills in the third set for UR. Williams had three. Immel had five kills in the third set for the Highlanders.
