LOUIS ALEXANDER PALESTRA – The College at Brockport outscored the University of Rochester, 39-33, in the second half to capture a 69-65 women's basketball victory on Tuesday evening. The win boosts the Brockport record to 3-0. Rochester had a three-game winning streak snapped and stands at 3-1.

Anna Felice led the Golden Eagles with 24 points. She connected on eight of 17 floor shots, five of eight outside the arc, and made three of six at the stripe. Kylee Rosbrook had 11 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Molly Mahony had eight points, 10 rebounds, and three steals Brockport shot 39.7% from the floor (26-63) and 54.5% outside the arc (six of 11). The visitors won the battle of the boards, 48-38. Brockport turned 16 offensive rebounds into 12 second chance points.

Rochester's scoring leaders were
Alexis Sestric and
Hannah Lindemuth with 18 points apiece.
Julianna Okoniewski scored 10 points, made three steals, and blocked three shots. The Yellowjackets shot 36.6% from the field (26-71) and 20% outside the arc (6-30).

Brockport hustled back on defense to cut down Rochester fast break opportunities. The Yellowjackets scored six points on breaks.

The game was marked by lead changes – there were 17 of them – and ties (there were eight). Brockport used a couple of scoring runs to climb back from deficits. With Rochester up, 14-5, in the first quarter, the guests ran off a 12-2 run of their own to edge ahead, 17-16. Felice hit back to back treys 20 seconds apart to key the run. Zoe Zutes had a pair of layups.

UR trailed by five midway through the second (27-22) before finding some offensive spark. Four players scored in a 10-3 sprint that put the Yellowjackets up, 32-30, at halftime. Sestric's trey started it and a layup by
Abby Gress finished it. The lead stretched to nine, 44-35, three minutes into the third. Lindemuth and Sestric each hit a three-pointer. Lindemuth drove for a layup, Okoniewski scored on a putback, and Sestric scored off the break. Brockport managed an 18-footer from Erin Nolan and a trey by Rosbrook. It was 44-35.

Brockport went back to work, scoring 12 points in a five minutes – eight coming from Felice – and holding UR to a layup by
Haley Dumiak. That put the Golden Eagles ahead, 47-46, with 2:23 left in the third. It was 52-51 Brockport after three.

That lead went to five after four points from Rosbrook.
Callie McCulley made a layup, Lindemuth scored in the lane, then drove for a layup to put Rochester ahead by a point (57-56) with less than four minutes left. The lead changed hands five times in the next two minutes. The last lead change came on a jumper from Mahony at the foul line (62-61. Chelsea Henry scored in the lane (64-61). After two free throws by Lindemuth (64-63), Brockport wound up sinking five of six free throws in the last 21 seconds to secure the win.

Next: Rochester takes part in the Mark's Pizzeria Crosstown Shootout on Thursday and Saturday. The Yellowjackets will play against Nazareth at St. John Fisher College on Thursday at 6 pm. They play at Fisher on Saturday at 8 pm. Brockport goes to William Smith on Saturday at 4 pm. Rochester will host William Smith next Tuesday at 6 pm, part of a doubleheader with the men's teams (Rochester-Hobart).
