LOUIS ALEXANDER PALESTRA – The women's basketball team at the University of Rochester provided an early holiday present for head coach
Jim Scheible on Tuesday night . They gifted him with his 400
th coaching victory at UR by defeating William Smith College, 82-55.

This is Scheible's 23
rd season at Rochester and his 31
st season overall. Rochester's record after the victory over the Herons is 5-2. Scheible is 400-186 at Rochester, 541-253 overall. William Smith is 1-2.

Six players scored eight or more points for Rochester.
Julianna Okoniewski scored 15, grabbed nine defensive rebounds, and made two steals.
Kat Jenks scored 12 points in 15 minutes off the bench.
Abby Gress had 10 points.
Alexis Sestric scored nine.
Charlotte Adler and
Haley Dumiak scored eight. Dumiak sank two of Rochester's 10 three-pointers.

Brooke Jarvis of William Smith led al scored with 24 points. She grabbed 15 rebounds. Olivia Parisi had 12 boards and 12 points. Lauren DeVaney had 11 rebounds and five points. William Smith out-rebounded Rochester 54-50. Jarvis was 12-16 from the foul line. The Herons sank 24 of 32 free throw attempts. Rochester was 12-13 at the stripe. Three players made two three-pointers apiece: Dumiak, Adler, and Jenks.

Rochester opened the game on a 16-4 flurry in the first four minutes. It was 32-16 at the half and 50-26 by halftime. Sestric led the Yellowjacket scorers in the first half with nine points. Dumiak had eight, Jenks and Gress seven apiece. Rochester had a torrid first quarter: 13-22 from the floor (59.1%), 6-10 outside the arc (60%). Jarvis had 10 points and nine boards for William Smith. Parisi contributed eight points.

The Yellowjackets will return to the court on Saturday playing at Marymount University in Arlington, VA. William Smith is idle until December 3 when the Herons open Liberty League play against RPI.
