SOUTHSIDE FIELD – Rochester completed a two-day, four-game softball sweep of Skidmore College by posting 12-0 and 8-0 victories on Sunday afternoon. Both games were shortened to five innings by the mercy rule. On Saturday, Rochester won, 13-0 and 7-0, in Saratoga Springs.

The Sunday victories boosted Rochester's record to 23-6 overall, 17-2 in the Liberty League. Skidmore is 2-6 overall and 2-6 in the Liberty League.

Game One:
Rochester capitalized on five consecutive first inning walks, two Skidmore errors, and two hits to grab a 7-0 lead.
Marissa Russo reached on an error to start. She stole second and Hannah Gilbreath grounded out to second, moving her to third.
Alizah Ayon singled her home. Then the walks were issued to
Toni Anne Hahn,
Alexis Pope,
Hannah Keiper,
Jen Carson, and
Madi Turner. Russo reached on another error with two down and Gilbreath lined a single that scored both Carson and Turner for the seven-run lead.

The Yellowjackets scored two in the third – back to back doubles by Keiper and Carson, then groundouts by Turner and pinch-hitter Allyson Beckwith. Ayon hit her second home run of the season with Gilbreath aboard in the fourth. Pope later walked, advanced on Keiper's single, and scored when Carson grounded out to the right side.

Hannah Leahy picked up the win (9-3). In five innings, she allowed four hits, walked two, and struck out two. Megan White had two hits for Skidmore – both doubles to left center field, one in the first and one in the third.  Kaitlyn Judd walked twice. Skidmore stranded six runners. Lindsey Raimondi took the loss (1-3). In four innings, she was charged with 12 runs (eight earned), walked six, and yielded seven hits.
Klee ripped an RBI double in game two, then scored herself.
Game Two:
Toni Anne Hahn's two-run home run to begin the fifth inning brought the mercy rule into play as the Yellowjackets won the nightcap, 8-0. Rochester collected eight hits off Megan Robertson (0-2) in the four-plus innings of work.

Robertson allowed eight hits, eight runs (seven earned), walked two, and struck out three.
Emily Sharlach won her eighth decision for Rochester (8-2). She gave up four hits, walked one, hit one, and struck out one in five innings.

Skidmore's Katie Anderson doubled with two down in the first before Sharlach got Judd to pop out to Turner to end it. In the second, Chloe McGonagle singled but Sharlach got a popout, a strikeout, and a ground out.

Rochester was ahead, 4-0, after the second inning. SC threatened in the third. Dana Ragen walked and White singled (she was 3-6 on the day). Robertson tried to help her own cause and bunted. Gilbreath dove from behind the plate and caught the bunt before it could hit the ground. Anderson bounced back to the mound with the runners advancing before Judd grounded out to pope at third base.

In the top of the fifth, Delaney Corbet was hit by a pitch. Ragen popped up. White grounded out to second, moving Corbet to second. Robertson singled up the middle. Corbet reached third, but was thrown out at home, Klee getting the ball to Gilbreath in plenty of time for the inning-ending tag.

UR plated four runs in the second, two in the fourth, two in the fifth. In the second, Keiper homered to right. Pope walked and moved to second when Carson's grounder was bobbled. Turner singled her home. Carson advanced to third and Turner moved up on the throw. Pinch-hitter Beckwith grounded to third and Carson was thrown out at the plate. Russo's double to left scored Turner. Gilbreath's groundout brought home the fourth run.

Loren Castilloux went in to run. Klee ripped an RBI double down the left field line, then scored two batters later on Gilbreath's single. Ayon singled, leading off the Rochester fifth and
Erin Bevec ran for her. Hahn hit the first pitch she saw over the left center field fence for a two-run home run and the eight-run victory margin.
