Two members of the Liberty League champion baseball team at the University of Rochester were recognized nationally for their efforts during the conference playoffs last week, being named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Sophomore catcher John Moses and sophomore outfielder Aaron Whitley were selected to the national team. For Whitley, this was the second time he earned Team of the Week honors this season. This weeks national team was the final one selected for the 2021 season, as the regular season concludes this week across the country.

Moses and Whitley were also honored by the Liberty League as the conference Rookie and Player of the Week earlier this week.

At the plate, Moses was 5-for-9 (.556) during UR's title winning run, connecting on one double and one home run while driving in a team-high six RBI in two games. The sophomore added four runs scored and was 19-for-19 in fielding chances defensively. Moses blasted a 2-run home run in the first inning of Saturday's championship game against Union, grabbing all the momentum for Rochester early, leading to the 19-4 win. For the week he slugged 1.000 and had an on-base percentage of .583.

Whitley was the Liberty League Tournament Most Outstanding Player after hitting 7-for-11 (.636) with five runs, three doubles and one RBI across the two games. The sophomore added two stolen bases, had a .909 slugging percentage and reached base in two thirds (.667) of his plate appearances.

Also this week, Whitley and Moses earned two major conference honors from the Liberty League in the season end awards release. Whitley was conference Player of the Year and 1st Team outfielder, while Moses earned Rookie of the Year accolades and was the Liberty League's 1st Team catcher.
