SCHNECTADY, N.Y. – Host Union Colllege jumped in front early and maintained its advamtage throughout in a 19-7 women's lacrosse victory over the University of Rochester at Frank Bailey Field on the Union campus Saturday afternoon.

The loss gives Rochester a final record of 5-9 overall, 2-8 in the Liberty League. Union is 6-9 overall, 5-5 in the league. The Dutchmen clinched the fifth seed (out of six teams) in the Liberty League tournament in the coming week. Union will play at RPI on Tuesday afternoon.

With the Dutchwomen trying to clinch a playoff spot and celebrate on Senior Day, it was a challenge for the Yellowjackets. Union burst in front, 8-2, after one quarter and built that advantage to 12-4 by halftime. Union's Grace Heiting matched her career high with seven goals – four from the free position. Drew Charlton and Anna Smith had three apiece for the home team.

Anne Traczyk was the only multiple goal scorer for Rochester. She had two goals and one assist. Five other UR players had one goal each:
Lucy Haggerty,
Sophia Stafford,
Emma Little,
Grace Crochiere, and Brooke Fiannacca. Haggerty and Perkell had assists in addition to Traczyk.

In goal,
Ava Saffren played the first and fourth quarters and
Quinn Brady was between the pipes in the second and third periods. Saffren made two saves. Brady had five saves. Union's Jenn Paszek made nine saves and allowed six goals in 57:02 before departing for Hannah Dubinsky.

Rochester won 19 draw controls, six by
Zoe Sullivan, five by Little, four by Perkell, three by Crochiere. Traczyk caused three turnovers and collected three ground balls.
Campbell Sy had two caused turnovers.
